The Central Coast Relics is a 4 piece rock band covering songs from the 1960’s through to the 2000’s.
All the members are seasoned musicians who have occupied bands from Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast.
We were brought together initially as an experiment by our previous bass player Steve Pavett.
“ A couple of years ago Steve Pavett (bass) had a thought, “Who do I know, that would like to play music together ?” A couple of phone calls later, a motley bunch of musos got together and the bond was instantaneous . The Relics was born ! “
Current members are from Yattalunga, Terrigal, Empire Bay & MacMasters Beach NSW.
Dennis (DW) Walsh on drums, Craig (Thommo) Tomlinson on bass, John (Slick) McKinney on guitar and Glenn (GK) Kennedy on vocals.
We decided early on that we would concentrate on songs that we enjoy playing that should evoke great memories for the audience and with a little luck, give them tunes they can either listen to or dance to making it a win win for all.
The songs are an eclectic mix covering 40 years provided by bands from England, the USA, Australia, New Zealand & Canada.
So far, our craft has been delivered to pubs, clubs, weddings, parties and between the COVID lockdowns we had an impromptu performance for a group of people who heard the band rehearsing in a West Gosford factory bay.
“ We noticed a fellow appear at the open door of the factory bay, then quickly disappear. Next thing there was a group of about 10-15 people, bringing their own seating and drinks. Poof, instant crowd, singing & dancing for the rest of the rehearsal. “
